Water Issue

I recently bought a used 29' 1994 Terry travel trailer. Everything works well, except the water. I am hooked up to "city water," but when I turn the water supply to the camper on, within 30-45 seconds water starts pouring from the rear corner of the camper. The leakage is roughly 2-3 feet from the grey/black water drain. There is no visible leak inside the home, and I am at my wits end here.

Hopefully I just made a rookie mistake somewhere along the line, but I am being told that there may be cracks or breaks in the lines somewhere...which sounds expensive.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  • Where is your fresh water tank located compared to where the leak is?
  • Do you get same leak when you turn on the water pump and use the on board FW tank?
  • One thing for sure.....city water leak is NOT coming from grey/black tank/drains.
Unless you have a black tank flush connection and have hooked up you water supply to it and the tank is full/overflowing......which is a whole different problem.

Water leaking from rear of rig when connected to city water is either a 'low point' drain valve still open OR you have a cracked line/fitting in plumbing system.

What is at back of rig??
Kitchen, bathroom, outside shower, city water connection???

    Crawl under rig and investigate.
Open EVERY door, cabinet, access panel inside & outside.
FIND the source of leak.........water will cause LOTS of damage.
  • There are drain plugs or valves you open up to let water out of the pipes. If you look underneath can you see where the water is coming from? If you are lucky one of these is open. You may need to turn the water at the spigot to just a dribble to see it clearly.
