The procedure to follow is, turn the water off, select location for the "T" and cut approximately 1/2" piece out of the pipe, take 1/2" length of pipe to hardware store and buy the appropriate size crimpless "T" and the fitting needed to connect the sprayer hose to the "T". Go home and install. Turn water back on and test for leaks and sprayer operation.
The pipe is probably 1/2", but take the piece with you to make sure. Sharkbite and other fittings do not use crimp rings. Some here say crimp rings are better but I've never had a Sharckbite or Flair-It fitting leak after a hard bumpy all day drive. All my leaks have been crimped fittings. Sea Tech also makes some nice fittings. I've used my pen knife and my PVC pipe cutter and both work fine. A pex and plastic tubing cutter is about 15 bucks.
