Water not flowing into RV

Water will not flow into the RV. We have check water bib, hose is not frozen (just filled tank with the hose). Took apart fitting entering RV, no blockage. Pump is off. We are baffled. Any ideas? Of course it's Saturday night and RV repair closed until Monday. 25' Tioga Ranger. Btw it had frozen at the faucet 2 days earlier, so water flow for 2 days. All is thawed now and faucet repaired.

  • Thanks for your input. Seems we just wasted our money on the Pirit Heated Hose. We are just going to disconnect from the spigot when it dips to 20 or lower
  • Thanks for the help all. SIL took the check valve out last night and put it back. During the night he kept thinking it didn't look right when he took it out. He took it out again and the spring was in wrong. Fixed that and it works fine!

are you using one of those inexpensive in-line water "pressure-regulators"? they can become clogged with grit. if you're using one take it out of the line and see if that corrects the problem.

^^^ The pressure regulator on the shore tie hose? YES. I think the brass ones are better than the plastic ones, but I had a brass one shut the supply off.

"fitting entering RV" - Where the shore tie hose attaches to the coach? There's a check valve in it. If that's what you worked on, did you get it right?

We've had two Class C's and the water systems were different. First had a shore tie connection and a separate "gravity fill" where we just stuck a hose into an opening, like filling a gas tank. Current one has only the shore tie and valves inside have to be worked to fill the tank.

If you're taking parts off the outside of the coach, be sure they're sealed in place when you're all done.
  • Some of the cheaper flow restrictors can do this. If you have a cheap flow restrictor try taking out or replacing it.

    Good Luck
