Water pump short cycling, how to fix
Hello everyone, I have a new to me 04 Alpenlite Aspen 28RK, and I'm a little worried about the way the water pump runs.
First and foremost, this is not the original water pump, as the manufacture date is 2010. Pump is a Shurflo 2208-422-444, 2.8 gpm 45 psi. It doesn't matter which faucet I'm using, the pump cycles on and off about every 2-3 seconds, creating a surge-fade cycle. My concern is this will wear the pump out early, and I almost exclusively boondock, so I need the pump to last. Aside from removing aerators at the faucets and boring out the shower wand, what can I do to stop the cycling and get smooth water pressure? My old 91 Wilderness 24C didn't have this issue with any faucets so I'm at a loss here. Is my only option an accumulator, or the aforementioned "modifications" the only options?
