Water pump threaded fitting replacement

I have a Artis products PDS1RV25 water pump. It has male threaded fittings. I would like to buy a fitting and hose section to put on the suction side in order to winterize. I called their tech support and asked what type of fitting I should use (NPT, NPSM, other?) and they had no idea. He just said use a plastic fitting from a home improvement store and it it doesn't go on smoothly try something else.

From the a photo on their web site it seems like it must be some kind of straight threaded fitting that seals with an o-ring or rubber washer.

Should I be looking for 1/2" NPSM fittings?

I undo the hose from the tank to the pump and then just use a standard sink installation hose.
    like one of these.

screws right on to the pump.. I put the other end in the jug of anti freeze and it works perfectly.

    X2 works great.

No, it costs me too much in fuel to consider them for a $1 fitting a couple feet of hose.

OK, that helps, I'll look for something that's supposed to screw onto a sink supply line.

I found a reference of what this fitting may be called:

    Straight Pipe Threads,FIP Straight,MIP Straight,NPS, IPS, Faucet Threads,Toilet Threads

    - So it looks like my NPSM NPS(Male) guess was good too.
