Water pumps

Talk to me about water pumps. We have a 2014 Wing River with a Shurflo 4008 water pump. The pump has given up the ghost. What water pump do you like as a replacement? We are looking for a quiet, efficient pump. Thank you for are input

  • In my 2010 Cameo my shurflo was starting to give up the ghost, I upgrade to a slightly larger one. There is more noticable water pressure at all the faucets. A worthwhile upgrade with shorter pump cycle and more pressure and seems to be quieter with no pounding.

    Original pump
    Shurflo 2088-422-444
    Flow 2.8 gpm
    12 vdc
    7 amp
    Pump_3 chamber Diaphragm
    45 psi

    New pump
    Shurflo 4048-153-E75
    Flow 4 gpm
    12 vdc
    10 amp
    Pump_4 Chamber Diaphragm
    55 psi
  • The best way to never have problems with the pump is to carry around a good quality spare of similar capacity rating.

We bought a marine grade pump very shortly after getting the trailer figuring that sooner, rather than later, the RV grade pump would pack up & die. There is a visible difference between the construction of the two.

Here we are going into our 10th season of about 150 nights per season, & ALWAYS drawing water from our own tank, & the original pump is still going strong.

Having bragged like that I fully expect to be installing that new pump this year.
  • Good ol' autocorrect. I'm pretty sure you mean Shurflo. I like them the best. I tried another brand at 60lb and it was too much for my pipes.
