The best way to never have problems with the pump is to carry around a good quality spare of similar capacity rating.
We bought a marine grade pump very shortly after getting the trailer figuring that sooner, rather than later, the RV grade pump would pack up & die. There is a visible difference between the construction of the two.
Here we are going into our 10th season of about 150 nights per season, & ALWAYS drawing water from our own tank, & the original pump is still going strong.
Having bragged like that I fully expect to be installing that new pump this year.
