- snowcrustracerExplorerI think it is a great idea. You are using just a 1/2 gallon of water to take a nice, hot, long shower. You don't reuse the 1/2 gallon over and over. You just use it once and then maybe wash your motorcycle or rig with the used water. He also explains what soaps to use and how to add Epsom salt to the mix to separate out the soap from the filter.
Here is the revised unit Hour Shower II - JiminDenverExplorer IIWow!
What a great idea
Why hasn't someone thought of it before?
Oh yeah
IT'S NASTY!
Don't you think if this was feasible that RV manufactures and even home builders would have done it long ago? That filter will become a petri dish after the first use.
The difference between this and a bath is you do not possibly forcibly spray dirty water into your eyes, ears, nose and mouth with a bath.
It might be interesting when your doctor prescribes jock itch meds for the rash on your face.
I have met this person. I envy his mini split A/C. - fj12ryderExplorer IIII may not need a shower every day, but I also don't want to take a shower with the water I used to take a shower with the last time I took a shower. Thanks, but no thanks.

- Your thread title reminded me of the song Waterproof by Sparks. "Water, water everywhere, but not a drop on me"
YouTube: Sparks - Waterproof - robatthelakeExplorerIt’s is a simple solution to a Boondockers dilema!
The folks who must have a shower every day may be the reason that our planet is becoming more and more polluted!
If you grew up in the 19 thirties, fourties and the early fifties , there were no Daily Showers ,as a matter of fact in some households a weekly Bath for a family often involved taking turns using the Galvanized Tub by the Kitchen Stove sufficed!
I can’t recall anyone dying from having a bath! Of course we did not drink the water and nobody brushed their teeth while having a Bath!
Obviously I’m one of the survivors! - opnspacesNavigator IINot sure if this is better or worse than just taking a bath.
I guess it's a bit cleaner as the water circulates through the filter. But then again there's the dilution factor as the bathtub will have much more water in it to dilute the contaminants. So which is better is up for debate.
In any case I think you would want to change the filter after every shower.
I think I'll just stick to my old school ways of using fresh water to take a shower. - ajridingExplorer IIGood idea, but I am looking at that filter and thinking one shower gets one palmfull of shampoo and equal amount of soap that will go directly into that filter. How much soap can that filter hold? or does the soap just run through?
Does the filter need to be back flushed every time?
Sounds like the shower water gets used once, then permanently disposed of into the gray tank, so at least it should be bacteria free. I would not want water out of the gray tank, ever.
Those filters are meant for micro things that are not visible, to filter large quantities of soap and body dirt is not what they are intended for. I am skeptical. - No thanks. I will stick with increasing conservation and capacity.
- wopachopExplorerMight be cool for offroaders. Just to rinse off dust. Or to rinse off a dog. Seems like more and more kids are trying to live inside vans these days where fresh water is minimal.
