Without extensive testing, there is no way of knowing whether a $150 piece of steel is better than a $100 piece of steel from a different supplier. Lots of things go into pricing. Warranty, advertising, volume, overhead, labor, and did I mention advertising? BTW, wear is not necessarily a great indicator. Something hard can also be brittle. I would rather have something wear a little than snap like glass because it is too "hard".
