Welding to battey box

I have a Class A MH. My group 24 batteries are under the inside steps. I want to changer over to GC2, but the box is not deep enough. I want to cut out the bottom of the box and drop it two inches then re-weld the box together. Will there be any problem if I remove all battery connection, All house batteries and engine batteries? Along with the shore power cable to make sure everything is disconnected. Thanks Gary
  • Not a thing wrong with what you propose....

However, I have welded on my chassis several times over the years and I didn't disconnect a thing.....

Just an FYI....If you were to take it to a muffler shop to have a new muffler welded on.....they wouldn't remove anything either.......
  • OK Thanks It was just one of those things that goes through the head at times. "The should I do this or not"? Worrying about all that electronic stuff that they add to these new engines. Not like my younger day of points, condenser, and generator on the old engines. Thanks Gary
  • Too easy,....a real challenge would be doing it w/ the batteries still in it :)
