One way. in fact the most accurate way. to measure humidity requires a dual bulb (one wet one dry) thermometer a piece of string and a book.
You start by slinging the thing around for a bit.
Read both thermometers and note the temps
Look the dry temp up in the book then the wet and where the two cross
HUMIDITY.
