WFCO Converter

At the suggestion of a member I tested my converter with the following result:

No shore power, no generator: 12.2VDC
Shore power (110VAC) : 12.5VDC
Generator power : 12.5VDC

I see a new converter in my future. Recommendations?
I actually changed out the original converter in my old Truck camper to a better one myself and see no reason not to be able to do this myself.
  • I may have not understood the OP. Anyway, if the battery is at 12.2 (50%) and you run the converter at its 13.6 (assuming it does not go into boost) the voltage reading should spike to maybe 13.3 and then slowly climb to 13.6

The actual battery voltage would only go up a little from the 12.2 with a short time recharge.

If the converter is not charging the battery that was at 12.2 but it went up to 12.5 with the generator on, then a possible scenario for that would be a load came off the battery so it bounced back to 12.5, but the generator would not take a load off the battery unless it was taking over from an inverter that was drawing on the battery.

The battery voltage went up so that means the converter is working , likely at 13.6v. Wait a couple of days and the batteries should be recharged with the voltage at 13.6

Then remove 120v input to the converter and battery voltage should drop to about 13 and then settle at about 12.75 (or less if they are sulfated)

Shouldn't I be showing at least 13.6 VDC at the battery when plugged in to shore power or with the generator running?
