My ignorance. I copied the images off the linked web page and then tried to save them to Open Office. Mistake. How can I save images so I can retrieve them? Conversion to PDF comes to mind but PDF ...

If younuse Firefox, try the addon "Fireshot"
It can save the entire page as an image, including more than currently visable on your screen.
Evernote is a program I really like, too. It usually does a good job of saving the page and formatting intact, which can then be organized into groups, notebooks, and marked up easily using Skitch.
They have a free and paid version.
