The OEM resistors are SMD, right? Adding a 1/4 watt 47K should be a piece of cake.
So should adhering a couple of TO247 heat sinks to those ceramic resistors.
I have 48 large cells in the 24 volt bank. Six in the toad and six VR cells on the AGM. The batteries in the rig were given away as gifts to the local fishermen. Four years old and being eaten away. A 50 amp power supply works fine.
Sheesh I need to get the sight machine under the knife soon I'm losing my vision. That's why I left home, to run away and get chopped up and haul back a ton of stuff. Seven power supplies including the WFCO. Maybe a quarter ton of gear, electronics.
Here's a teaser. LM317 current limiting. 800ma...? For 10 watt LED chips. My rig is going all LED. Real LED's. A few fixtures will be PWM controlled, sans the 317.
That should do fine, the LM317... I built a few custom head lights for my mtn biking buddies with Cree 10W LED's and the LM317 driver was a good choice. We used them for riding our mtn bikes down single track at night. Wild fun, pure instinctual riding style due to a limited amount of light. Tons of animal eye shines too, coyote, fox and bobcat, from time to time.
