WFCO Please Describe The Operational Malfunctions

Do some of the critters not even attempt to switch into "boost" mode despite starting out at say, 12.2 volts? Or is it a threshold issue, where unusually low voltage is needed to trigger the boost mod...

Every post means I get a better handle of what's not going on. Again, the unit is going to be connected with 18" lengths of soldered terminals 4AWG cable.
