Nope about your hydrometer...it is accurate...your batteries are sulfated. Not horribly and say "gracias" because you probably caught them before the sulfate hardened.
Since you are done for they day. Correlate 1.255 as to state of charge. That is the level of charge hence capacity of your batteries.
Being a cheapskate, I insist that my however many hundreds of dollars of battery maintain an ability to hold a maximum amount of storage.
