What are the water line fittings?

I have a 2013 N-L 8-11 camper. I want to cap off two water supply lines but I can't identify the fittings. Are they some type of PEX? Where could I buy the fittings? My local ACE Hardware store carries the PEX brand but doesn't know about the plastic threaded fittings. I would appreciate any help so my project can go forward.

Note: The lines that I want to cap off are the hot and cold water supply lines to the outside shower. They are located in the wall where I can just see them. I believe that I can unscrew the fittings from the tees that feeds the other faucets. I am hopping that there is a cap that is available for the open tee, something that I can assembly to make a cap, or just a jumper to replace the tee.

My HitchHiker 5th wheel trailer uses the same fittings. I believe that many RV's use this style fitting.

I have a photo but I don't know how to post it.

Thank you,
LeRoy

  • Got the answer:

A fellow on the "Norther-Lite Owners Forum" identified them as Flair-It fittings.

I looked into it a little deeper and here is what I found:
    Mfgr: Flair-It
    Website: http://flairit.com/
Part No: 16860 (1/2 inch NPT)
    UPC: 7429168601

The manufacture's website is no help. However, if you Google "16860" or "UPC 7429168601" you will get many sources.

I also need three of them because I need to cap off the Hot and Cold Outside Shower lines and the "City Water" supply line.

These forums are great. I thank everyone for your help.

  • How about Sharkbite fittings for PEX. Also Gator Bite Fittings.
Available at Lowes and Home Depot.

  • Should be standard plumbing thread. Buy anything close and return what does not work.
  • Handye9:

Thank you, I just went out to the camper and opened a line. I tried a 1/2 NPT nipple and it fits just like you said. I noticed inside the female fitting had a flat sealing ring in it. Basically a white oring that had a square cross section. I wonder where I can buy that style.

    Thanks again,

  • I disconnected outside showers on both TT and TC. All I needed to cap the lines, 1/2 inch pipe nipple, teflon tape, and a 1/2 inch threaded cap. Both nipple and cap are plastic.
