Thetford has a procedure to give the seal a "tune up" without actually replacing it. You add hot water to the bowl after removing and cleaning the seal, and let the hot water sit in the bowl for a while. You also want to lube the seal after putting it back in. I had the same problem with my 1 year old toilet and this fixed the problem. Did not have to replace the seal.
