PS: about not running a genny "any more than now".
Mena, you are right about that - and not :). This needs some clarification.
If you already have daily genny time due to your other loads, but the evening or morning SOC is not low enough to demand max charging current that you genny can produce, then you can indeed push more AH over same N genny hours due to the increased current. This will require a larger (=louder, smellier) genny - unless yours is already big enough for this heavier duty - and there will be more fumes and fuel spent, so it won't be exactly the same genny run as before. But - yes, you may get away with the same genny time.
My point remains the same - if you boondock a lot, with a residential you'll have "more genny". More hours or more noise and fumes. Those who didn't have to run a genny before, - will start. Those who used to run it less - less hours, or a smaller genny - will get a bigger genny and/or have to run it more.
Either way, it will be "more". More dependence on a genny as well. Fridge is one of the most important items for a fulltimer. You can cook on propane, light a tiny lamp or go to bed early if you have to, but if your fridge stops running because of some genny problems - this is a major pain.
