The connection has blackened wires that may have darkened by heat. Whatever happened, bad crimp, high current or contamination, the connections need to be repaired.
Yeah, I didn't know what I was doing with that multimeter and I'm sure I pulled the ground up too early as I blew a few fuses in the meter itself. No more of that for me...oy
Learn how to use your tools. If the voltage function still works on your meter, connect one probe to one termination supplying power and one probe to ground. Place the furnace in operating mode (turn up the thermostat)You should measure in a range of 12 VDC.
I don't see any "blackness" or "burning/melting" in that wire connection. I'm with Doug, it looks like a poor crimp. Your meter will discover if it is working.
BTW, your control board probably has at least one fuse on it.
