Metal to Rubber
For the strongest bond, we recommend:
Household Goop
Not as strong but good for a large area is:
3M 80
Whenever you are gluing metal it's a good idea to clean it first with steel wool or sandpaper. (Rust never sleeps.)

- hypoxiaExplorerI clean it with alcohol and apply a wipe on adhesive promoter and then apply Super Weatherstrip Adhesive (Black). It's all about the prep!

Thanks for the link, just what I needed. - LJAZExplorer3M super weatherstrip and gasket adhesive. Should be available at Wallymart or Big Orange Box hardware or most of the FLAPS.
- Elk_travelerExplorerI used the Gorilla construction adhesive to attach rubber panels behind bumper to deflect road spray from toad behind motorhome. This is the very best I have ever used. If you do not want it to fall off this is one you want to use. Becomes tacky in a few minutes but takes 24 hours to dry. Remains somewhat soft but will not peel away. I attached the rubber panels nearly 3 yrs ago and when traveling down the road they are under whatever wind pressure is underneath the coach when you rolling down the highway and they have never become detached. I purchased the Gorilla product in a caulk tube but I think you can buy in smaller amounts at Home Depot or any place home products for building material are sold.
- GjacExplorer IIII like Shoe Goo(sold in any Walmart) as a general adhesive to fix just about anything in the RV. It was originally made to bond to rubber soles of shoes but it will bond rubber to metal also. It remains somewhat ductile after curing and is difficult to peel or knock off. Epoxy is a more brittle bond and is much easier to peel. Surface prep is important with any adhesive. Abrading the mating surfaces and then solvent wiping is very important.
