I only do my BATTERY monitoring closly when camping off the power grid.
I have two DC VOLTMETERS monitoring my two battery banks which reads the same DC VOLTS since I usely have both banks selected for use. Then I have a +/- 70AMPS DC AMPS meter that shows how much I am pulling from the master BLUE SEA Battery Switch when drawing DC power when camping. This meter will also monitor how my current is going into the battery bank when in CHARGE mode.
My setup is wired like this: The DC AMPS meter shunt is a HALL EFFECT type.
I do all the calculating in my head on where I am at haha...
I have done good by this simple meter setup over the past few years in my camping off the power grid outings... When my battery banks drops down to 12.0VDC I know it is time to do some charging...
About the only improvement I might need is an alarm that comes ON when I get down to the 12.0VDC level maybe...
