I see a transmission tailpiece, A tool box and tool tray, and the bracket is the transmission rear mount unless I miss my guess.. not all transmissions have 'em but some do.
It may not be a "hard mount" like a motor mount but rather a "Bumper" to prevent excessive side to side movement of the tailpiece which would cost you torque and possibly damage.
