Apparently you didn't understand the post you just quoted. I already know that BFL tilts his panels, but if a person wanted to reduce panel temp and has flat mounted panels, tilting is a way to reduce panel temp maybe by as much as 10C. Tilting allows for better radiant, conductive and convective heat loss.
A 10C temp loss could mean a recovery of 4-5% of panel power. For folks that are generally concerned about 2 or 3% losses in wiring, I'm rather surprised no one is picking up on this.
From the responses, I gather no one really knows (or cares) what the real panel temps are.
I may just have to fit a panel with a temp sensor and do some experimenting.
