What size hole on hitch
What is the size of the hitch pin hole on a class III hitch? I tried a 5/8 but the pin doesn't fit, it's just a hair bigger that the 5/8 hole

You probably meant 41/64 (.640). Still too loose IMHO.
A 5/8 pin will just be cold rolled steel, and about .622". A slip fit in a .625" hole. And a little use helps too.
16mm would be good. .630". But who has that handy?
