What size hole on hitch
What is the size of the hitch pin hole on a class III hitch? I tried a 5/8 but the pin doesn't fit, it's just a hair bigger that the 5/8 hole

I agree with you on this part. About 1 minute with a Dremel tool will probably take care of the problem.
The most common problem with cheap receivers and draw bars, or home made copies, is that they didn't get the hole dead nuts on center, or they drilled from each side instead of through, and the holes are not in alignment. Size isn't usually a problem, because a 5/8" drilled hole (not reamed) will have all the clearance needed.
Those of you who doubt, dig out your dial caliper and go measure a few receivers and draw bars.
