What Smart charger do I need?
I'm trying to charge 2 Sams Club gc2 golf batterys. I currently have a Shumacher SC8020a battery charger. I charge em a couple hours a day with not much success. They charge good from Alternator...

The setup can easily accomodate an eighty amp rated charger.
But most smart chargers are junk for generator duty. There are a couple of models that work better than others. Some members here will clue you in. The Schumacher if it is a true manual charger is valuable. Keep it stowed aboard. The least offensive smart charger has the moniker BOONDOCKER.

I'm confused on how my Shumacher would be valuable in the boondocking world if it would take 13 hours to charge my auxiliary batteries , running my generator for 13 hours would cost me ga$.
I could see how it would come in handy if I needed to jump start my van.
