- naturistNomadSOAP AND WATER, followed by lots of water. Rubbing alcohol is the only other solvent safe for the EDPM rubber. Anything with petroleum distillates in it will damage the rubber.
- C_SchomerExplorerAjax and a scrub brush is what my manual says to use and it works great. Craig

X2 - wa8yxmExplorer IIIRoutine cleaning ... Bucket, Mop, Water, Spic & Span.. For the 2nd (Rinse) pass. Hose and sprayer
For pre-eternabond application.. Start with above, Optional: Let dry.
Then using a clean cloth and Alcohol (not the drinking kind) Let dry
Then apply Eternabond.. Let stick
Then touch up with spic & span again to make sure all the alcohol is history.
(Wait a day before that) - 2oldmanExplorer IIAnd I think it's EPDM
- NancyLongExplorerManufacturers mostly use unleaded gasoline to clean the seams of EPDM roofing materials. But you need to clean any dirt brushed or power washed away before cleaning the underlying EPDM with solvent cleaner.

I would like very much to see any reference to a manufacturer of EPDM or TPO that recommends using gasoline to clean their roofing material. - AlmotExplorer IIIDishwashing soap, then alcohol.
You can use aceton, but it's stinky, will give you a headache, and in a hot weather it evaporates so quickly that doesn't do anything.
Rub it thoroughly on every stage - with soapy water and with alcohol. The goal is to remove whitish powdery residue of oxidized paint. The paint is deteriorating with time, turns into a powder, so you need to remove it. The surface should look smoother and shinier than before. Don't overdo it, stop when you start seeing black spiderweb cracks - this is a black rubber shows under the white paint.
