Each year for some twenty years I have been one of the Judges at the local Elementary School's Annual Science Fair.
A few years ago the Principal introduced me as a Retired Navy Submariner that had been to the North Pole. This lead to some awkwardness later when some of the children wanted to know if I had met Santa... I no longer am introduced as having been to the Pole.
