That writer conveniently neglected to mention that Progressive's warranty makes it absolutely clear that it's the EMS owner's responsibility to ensure all connections are tight, clean, and not burnished or corroded. While that's easy to do with the EMS connectors it's not so much with park receptacles, with the best one can do probably being to spray those receptacles (and the EMS connectors) with a good electrical cleaner and dielectric grease for each use. I agree, easy for Progressive to say, difficult for any owner to ensure, but this IS spelled out in the warranty. The only better solution I can think of is to install your portable EMS inside the trailer, connect it once, and just leave it that way - no corrosion, no burned contacts, and easy to inspect anytime as all these connections are yours, inside the trailer where they're also out of the elements. I did just this with a portable TRC EMS I owned and indeed I never had any issues with it.

Unlike the current versions that have a display this older unit didn't so not being able to see it easily was a non-issue ... it just sat there and did it's job. :)
FWIW, my current hard wire Progressive EMS is installed in this same manner and I've experienced no connection issues whatsoever and of course the included remote monitor means I can monitor what's going on even though the unit itself is installed out of sight under the sofa.
