Wheel simulator with a strange problem

My wheel simulator wiggles around on the wheel rim. I’ll put the wheel hole directly in the center of valve extension and everytime I fill up with gas wheel simulator has moved just a little. Usually about the 4th tank of gas I have to remove wheel simulator and re-position back to center of valve stem, so simulator doesn’t rub against valve stem. Wheel simulator has no signs of curb crunches or bent. On the inside the metal hooks that hook onto rim are not bent. Anybody else ever have this problem? What was your fix?
Wife gets upset everytime I talk about taking them off. Personally, I would like a visual of lugnuts and rim and easier to re-torque (when I do so) but also enjoy peace and harmony.
