When did the eu2000's become so hard to start
We had a 2008 eu2000 that we used to power our fish house in the winter. The thing always started on the first or second pull unless it had sat for 3-4 months. Then maybe 7-8 pulls. Two weeks ago we sold and bought a new one. Out of the box it took well over 100 pulls to get it started. Called the dealer and they said to take out spark plug and pour some fuel in it. We didn't feel we should have had to do this with a new genny, but decided to do it and it did start but was wanting to oscilate and needed to have the choke on a little ways to stay running. Dumped the gas out and went and got some non-ox 91 octane. It ran a little better but still not great. It still has under 5 hours and I will be changing over to synthetic oil and hopes this helps. I read the earlier post about "hard starting honda 2000". Is this common with the newer Hondas? The older one always started easy, we just figured it was starting to get a lot of hours on it and were able to trade into the new one for under $200 and got a three year warranty to boot.
