Decide what size cable, then purchase copper, eye-hole terminators (lugs) from a welding supply. A well stocked supplier should provide #2 to 4/0 cable with colored jackets in any length. The welders use these terminators to connect the ground wire to the clamp. Fill the terminators with solder and while it's liquid, add the trimmed cable ends. Heat shrink looks nice between the terminator and the jacket if you want minimum bare metal protection.
