which grease for wheel bearings on tt

Large variety of grease available to repack wheel bearings, how do you choose.
The old standard is lithium but there is also a lot of synthetic in the market, are they any better.

If your hubs are getting that hot, you're doing it wrong.
  • I use Mystic JT-6 Hi-Temp #2. I can get it in both a tube and a tub, so I don’t have to worry about incompatibility. It’s also Dexter approved.
  • Mine is pretty much whatever is in the grease gun at the time.
  • I just use the Valvoline red grease from my FLAPS. It's a lithium soap, I think.
  • My Chinese made bearings don't seem to care about the grease. I use a grease made for wheel bearings but not the high temp kind of grease.
  • Lithium has proven itself. But main thing is make sure you do not mix grease types.
  • Who makes your axles? Dexter has a recommended list of grease on their website and Lippert may too.
  • If you repack yearly, a good practice, either will do IMO.
