Which is better - (3) 12v batteries vs (2) 6v batteries

I am looking to replace an old coach battery with AGM batteries for boondocking usage. I have space for (3) 12 volt group 24s without having to do any modifications, but could also just use 2 of the b...

I changed to 2 x 6 Volt batteries back in 2006 when the old 12v one went south. Just sold that trailer a few weeks back with those batteries still in it! And they were still going strong!
