Which is better - (3) 12v batteries vs (2) 6v batteries

I am looking to replace an old coach battery with AGM batteries for boondocking usage. I have space for (3) 12 volt group 24s without having to do any modifications, but could also just use 2 of the b...

Why not just go with 3-12 volt 8D 250 AH AGM's. Less wiring, minimal maintenance, and plenty of reserve power.
Those coupled with solar and an AGS and a quality inverter/charger, make extended boondocking a breeze.
