Which is better - (3) 12v batteries vs (2) 6v batteries

I am looking to replace an old coach battery with AGM batteries for boondocking usage. I have space for (3) 12 volt group 24s without having to do any modifications, but could also just use 2 of the b...

Hi BFL13,

If you are doing 50 to 90 then no over charging of one set while undercharging of the other will happen. When you get home separate the banks by type and recharge each set to 100%.

Deliberately creating unbalanced wiring may be worth considering. For example charging the six volts first and putting the twelve volts farther down the "chain".
