You don't need a new converter if you never boondock.
The Parallax unit you have is a 30 amp (AC--120v) unit that may do say 55 amps at 13.8v DC. If you are on shore power forever, that is all you ever need forever.
For that scenario, you should have only one 12v battery and replace it every couple years or so. If you have more battery bank than that, it will need a charger that can go into the 14s and even the 15 volt range at times, like a guy who actually boondocks and needs to keep his batteries alive. You don't need that.
