I bought the Camco Evo single cartridge water filter that uses replaceable cartridges. Camco has two different replacement cartridges that have the same description but are two different numbers and Amazon prices. 40621 for $10.36 & 40624 for $13.97. What are their differences? Couldn't find it with a web search. Both are 5 micron and mention the activated charcoal and such.Also, AFAIK, these are standard house filter sizes so I could have a multitude of choices. What is your preferred filter cartridge?

Flow-Pur has a set of replacement filters that go up in number of threats they protect against. You have to decide on the threat, then choose.They also have different connections for "quick connect" or "1/2 inch threaded" etc. So you need to know which. ISTR you can make a quick connect into a threaded, but not vv.

I would suggest using a roughing (woven string) filter before my good/expensive one to avoid clogging up the good one.bumpy

One time, I thought I had drained all the water out of the lines before a freeze-up, but later, when letting water back in, I found that the filter had cracked and was leaking all over the place! I don't know if that is the usual thing. Anyway, to be sure, disconnect the filter as part of the routine for that.
