Water Filter Cartridge Replacement

Visit your nearest big box home supply (Lowes, Home Depot, etc) or hardware and pick a cartridge of the same size for the type of filtering you are most interested in doing.

charcoal filters help with taste and filter also. under $10.

I double filter. One inline filter at the hose bibb and a charcoal filter in the cannister inside the trailer.

I got one from HD or Menards. it fits the canister perfect. however when I had my TT I did the same thing and the pump wasn't strong enough to overcome the filter. on our current MH the pump is more than strong enough.

If you want a filter that is QUALITY made here in the USA instead of China I highly suggest this unit. Been using this one for several years. Change it every 3 month full time use.

I see a LOT of so called replacements for the Water-Pur CCI-10-CA , they will physically fit, but check the micron filtering, most say they are a replacement, BUT, they all filter to 0.5 micron, the Water-Pur filters to 5 micron, I've never been good at math, but i'm pretty sure that's a big difference.

Yep, filtering to .5 micron is 10 times better than filtering to 5 micron. Think of those sizes as the size of the holes that particles can pass through.

Yep, filtering to .5 micron is 10 times better than filtering to 5 micron. Think of those sizes as the size of the holes that particles can pass through.

I'm not really sure what a micron is. Is it a two-dimensional measurement? If so, then you're correct about 0.5 being 10 times better (smaller) than 5. But if a micron is a one-dimensional measurement, an opening has both length and width. So, assuming a square space, if the length of the space is 0.5 microns compared to a length of 5 microns, the difference in the 2-dimensional size of the opening is actually 100 times bigger with a 5 micron space than a 0.5 micron space.

But I digress. With a much smaller opening do we end up with a situation in which the pump can't get the water through it, like a previous poster said? If so, then even though the filter is "better" in that it filters out more stuff, it is worse in that you can't get enough water through it.

I get the 0.5 micron from the waterfilterstore online. You can call, talk to them, to be sure you get the right one, or just ask questions. They are knowledgeable/helpful. If you are concerned enough to have filtered water, then best to not cheap out on the filter. A GOOD QUALITY filter will not slow the flow.

A micron is one millionth of a meter. The micron rating of a filter is the maximum size diameter particle which can can pass through it. So, a 5 micron filter allows particles 10 times as large to pass as does a .5 micron filter.
