Well "for the record". A CORRECTLY installed Battery box will NOT allow any snow or rainfall into the case. That is why they have the top cover lip OVER the side when secured down. Doug
Just for the record, when the snow and ice are piled higher than the battery box and are freeze/thawing for weeks/months, it won't much matter how you installed that plastic lid.
