Okay I put in a supco spp6. I removed the mallory and bypassed the relay and plugged the supco right into the run capacitor. Now I did this because today I was able to get a hold of my friend who has been doing this for 30 years. He wasn't sure it would help but he thought it would be worth a shot.
It seems to have possibly helped. When in eco mode on my Honda 3000 it would bog down big time for 3 to 5 seconds. Now it bogs down for 1 second or less. With a volt meter on it, in eco mode it goes down to 70 volts for like 1/2 a second then shoots right back up to 120. When not on eco mode it still drops voltage to about 80 volts for about 1/2 a second. In other words very little difference. I will only know for sure if I did any good when I get out on a hot day a run the thing for hours.
Well I hope I have done myself a little good but it appears all the folks in the know (C Schomer, Chris and my hvac guy) pretty much agreed my unit very possibly had nothing to gain. I will only know for sure down the road.
I think as Chris said my unit is just not very efficient. When plugged into the outlet in my shop the voltage only drops from like 118 to 115 before it shoots back up. So I guess a wall outlet is still a little better than my little honda 3000!
Thanks for all the help folks.
