Why did my water pump stop pumping?

Hello!
On the way to our campsite, we used the pump several times.
Got all set up and turned on the pump and it runs but won’t pump.

All fittingsare tight, tank is full but no water is pumping.

Could it have lost its prime?

Thanks

TD

Open a faucet. If there is an air pocket, that will aid in bleeding the air out.

If that doesn't work, open the kitchen sink faucet, and with the pump turned on, suck on the faucet. That will, as above, help bleed the air past the pump.

I agree with the first part, but that sucking the faucet, should not be necessary, unless a roach is trapped in the line.

Also don't be afraid to let the pump run dry for a bit, waiting for it to prime. It will not harm it.

  • Check your settings in the wet bay. You may be feeding water from the tank to the tank.
  • Open a faucet. If there is an air pocket, that will aid in bleeding the air out.

check fuse. if your reading the empty/full gauge? they are not very good at telling the true water left in the tank.

    Pump runs but doesn’t pump.

How old? What make and model of pump?

Camper is 2 years old. I looked at the pump but I’ll have to get the make and model later today.

Pump is self priming. How did you verify the tank is full?

I pulled the drain, let some of the water out and then refilled it. It’s full.
