Back in CA we had one of the best water (no profit) utility Co, but getting close to a year in Las Vegas where water is famous for being ugly, SS holds well.
It is my understanding that in your area Lake Meade is your primary source of water. It is also my under standing that what you discard you drink after treatment. Probably the chemicals that treat the sewage makes the utensils rust free
