Yes, monel is everything proof, especially cutting. When younger, my first job in an NC machining center were some 6" diameter monel flapper valve bodies for an aircraft fire suppression system. Nothing dulled/burned/broke carbide tipped mills, drills, taps, reamers, boring bars, etc. faster than monel. I hated it. Even the chips were nasty. I'll guarantee you, those bolts were very expensive at the original selling price.
