Wifi for free in public places and in many businesses open to the public is becoming commonplace. Just as free coffee, bottled water in waiting areas at car dealerships. A very cheap way to retain customers. Nice thing is at least with my iPhone is once I connect to one of these wifi spots the next time I'm there it remembers me and signs me on automatically.
