This would only test the capacity of the entire system. The OP is looking for a bad connection or undersized wire based on heat built up.
As long as you take temp readings before and then after a big load on he system, such as a microwave, undersized wiring or bad connections could be isolated.
Chris is correct and you are not. Sorry but you don't understand voltage drop testing.
In fact voltage drop and voltage droop testing is his simplest and most effective tool he has if he understands how to do it.
