Windmill atop RV
Just out of curiosity has anyone tried the idea of several windmills on top of the RV to generate power to recharge batteries as you are driving? They could be raised and lowered as the situation cal...

i know of several people who have started the genset
put a jumper from house to chassis batteries
and got home, or to a safe spot off the road, shop etc
when the alternator quit working
including me, once many yrs back
i even carry an emg belt "adjustable", although it won't work for this cummins DP
there are FAR EASIER ways to get around a dead alternator or missing belt
than a wind turbine,
wind turbines 'unclutch' at high wind speeds to prevent damage, so the blade 'free wheel'/ spin freely at what be normal highway speeds
so even if you got it mounted and it didnot hit overpasses and wires it would not work
and the noise and vibration are nothing you would like
we do a lot of thinking outside the box around here
but we still have to stay 'inside the laws of engineering and physics'
