Winegard Traveler installation questions

Once my Travler locks on, I shut it off and leave it off until I'm ready to stow it. Sometimes after it would have a good signal, it would start searching again which was very annoying. Holding the "Power" and "Select" buttons down for a couple seconds shuts it off without stowing.
