This can happen if the dish is ever so slightly bent or the LNB housing has 1 of the 3 LNB's bad. You can try replacing the LNB with a new one (cheap) and if that doesn't work you can try a new dish reflector. Winegard has also had some units where the base "slop" is too much and while it tunes in well, just a bit of wind or vibration (walking around, closing door) can shift it ever so slightly off signal. There are also multiple transponders and they vary in strength. You want to pull up the signal meter that shows all of the transponders and not the signal strength meter that only show 1.
