After years of never doing any maintenance on my Winegard TV antenna it started leaking through the shaft into the camper.
Research indicated the TV antenna is supposed to be lubricated with silicone spray twice a year. The lubrication not only is for the gears, but to keep the seal on the shaft from drying out and enabling water to leak down the shaft.
Lubricated it today and will see if it fixes the seal leak of if the seal will need to be replaced.
Another thing to add to my scheduled maintenance list.
Well, you won't know if the seal is bad just by lubricating it you need to disassemble and inspect. I did mine the other day and the seal was gone. It is the smallest rubber washer you will ever see and it has to bear the weight of the antenna assembly while being rotated.
